A Residential Insight Meditation Retreat

RIMC's 25th Anniversary Insight Meditation Retreat"with

Sharda Rogell and Howie Cohn

Friday June 21 (evening) to Friday June 28 (noon), 2019

at Shekinah Retreat Centre, Waldheim, Saskatchewan

In this retreat, we will explore the Buddha's pathway to inner peace and freedom. Through mindful attention to our moment-to-moment experience, whether painful or pleasurable, we see with increasing clarity the way things truly are. Within the silence and the support of sangha, we deeply connect with the flow of life and come to understand how to free ourselves from deeply held patterns and awaken to our essential goodness as well as other beautiful qualities of our heart and mind.

Held in noble silence, we will enter into a traditional retreat form with alternate periods of sitting and walking, daily instructions, dharma talks and discussions in both large and small groups.

This retreat is suitable for new and experienced students alike. All are welcome.

Sharda Rogell is the guiding teacher for the Regina Insight Meditation Community. She has been practising and teaching meditation for over 35 years and teaches worldwide. Sharda has been influenced by many different Buddhist traditions, as well as by her root teacher, H. W. L. Poonja during her many trips to India. Sharda is also a student of A. H. Almaas in the Ridhwan School. She is currently on the Teacher Council at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in northern California near her home.

Howard Cohn  has practised meditation since 1972 and has led vipassana retreats worldwide since 1985. He is one of the original teachers at Spirit Rock Meditation Centre. He has guided Mission Dharma Meditation Community in San Francisco for over 30 years and also offers private counselling and mentoring. Howard has studied with many Asian and Western teachers of several traditions, including Theravada, Zen, Dzogchen and Advaita Vedanta, and has been much influenced by the Indian master H.W.L. Poonja.
