"Got the Flow" is an Enso, or Zen circle, that I painted several years ago (2008) one creative evening in my basement studio. It was meant to convey the basic human goodness that lies within each one of us. Sometimes we don't recognize it within ourselves and we struggle or strain to achieve some illusive goal. The calligraphy practice that I engage in encourages me to try to go with the flow — to be in the moment, accepting it just as it is, and not trying too hard to reach that perfect idea of my goal.
The Enso shape reminds me of a mirror that I can look into which reveals something of the psychological and spiritual state that I was in when I painted it. I find this practice to be very meditative and relaxing. I would highly recommend it.
