Invites you to a Meditation Evening
with Howard Cohn
The Buddha’s Path of Well-being and Happiness
Friday November 17, 2017, from 7 pm to 9 pm
Dalnavert Museum, 61 Carlton Street (just south of Broadway) Winnipeg
This evening will include a meditation, a talk, and discussion. Everyone is welcome. No meditation experience is necessary.
The Buddha was called the ‘Happy One.’ His teachings and path provide a clear and inspiring vision of our capacity to fulfill our goal of happiness. This evening talk and meditation will explore the Buddha’s Way of mindfulness, concentration and love, illustrating how each of us, through a gradual process of applying loving awareness to our moment-to-moment experience, can move from clinging and attachment to letting go and freedom, from confusion to clarity, and from tension to ease.
Howard Cohn has practised meditation since 1972 and has led retreats since 1985. He leads on-going classes in San Francisco, California, near his home. He has studied and practised with many Asian and western teachers of several Buddhist traditions, including Theravada, Zen, Tibetan and Advaita Vedanta. He incorporates a non-dual perspective in his teaching.
This evening is freely offered at no charge. In keeping with our tradition, there will be an opportunity to offer a donation (dana) for Howie’s teachings. Pre-registration is not required. For more information, email Nelle at firstname.lastname@example.org
